As we wrote in our Kirby and the Forgotten Land review, this is a brilliantly fun game with plenty of surprising and silly ideas, whether you're playing on your own or making the most of the co-op multiplayer option by playing with a pal at your side.

With loads of copy abilities to choose from and the new Mouthful Mode mechanic to reckon with as you take on all the barmy bosses in the game (which include King Dedede and the Beast Pack), this promises to be an exciting adventure for Kirby fans.

The Kirby and the Forgotten Land Metacritic score is sitting pretty at 85/100, too, so it's not just us who like it! And to learn more about the game, all you need to do is keep on reading!

When is the Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date?

The Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date will take place on Friday 25th March 2022, the developers from Nintendo have confirmed. So you should be able to jump in and play before the weekend.

You can buy Kirby and the Forgotten Land from the Nintendo website and download it onto your Switch, or you could order a physical copy from any number of retailers such as Amazon, GAME, Currys or Argos. (Amazon and Currys seem to have the best price out of that lot, if you were wondering.)

What time does Kirby and the Forgotten Land come out?

As the official Nintendo website says, new games will "usually be available" at 2pm GMT on their day of release, so you should be able to play Kirby and the Forgotten Land from that time on 25th March.

Things do sometimes run a little early, though, so it's worth checking in the morning whether the game has already become playable. It's not unheard of for Nintendo to unlock new games at midnight.

What platforms can I get Kirby and the Forgotten Land on?

In news that should come as no surprise at all, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch when it comes out. No port to another platform has even been rumoured at this point so it will likely remain the only way to play it.

Can I pre-order Kirby and the Forgotten Land?

Kirby and the Forgotten Land pre-orders have indeed begun, with GAME having the title ready to add to your basket - and you get a cute little mouse mat as a pre-order bonus if you order from there.

In terms of the game's RRP, the Kirby and the Forgotten Land price appears to be £49.99 GBP here in the UK, and there is a free demo on the Nintendo eShop if you want to try it before you buy it.

It's worth noting that some retailers seems to have knocked a fiver off that price as a tidy little deal for the fans — you can buy the game at Currys or Amazon for just £44.99.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land story and gameplay

Here is the official synopsis for Kirby and the Forgotten Land so you know the lay of the land story-wise before you play.

"Kirby washes up on the beaches of a new "post-apocalyptic" world called "The Forgotten Land". He finds that creatures, mainly Waddle Dees, are being kidnapped by an evil force known as "The Beast Pack". Kirby, alongside a new rescued companion called Elfilin, adventure across the new world to rescue the kidnapped Waddle Dees and battle the Beast Pack along the way,"

As for the gameplay, well, as mentioned Kirby has gone all 3D - and he looks even snazzier than ever as a result. Despite the change, this is still a platform game and the mission to save the Waddle Dees will see Kirby making his way through several stages to reach his endpoint.

Expect Kirby to retain his ability to jump and slide, and, of course, he will be able to inhale enemies - and objects too - with the ability to shoot them back out at those in his way. The other option is to harness abilities via this method such as new additions, Drill and Ranger.

There will also be several mini-games that will open up and these will come along as you rescue Waddle Dees at the end of each stage.
